5.4 magnitude quake jolts parts of Bangladesh

A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.4 magnitude on the Richter scale, was felt in different parts of the country including Chattogram on Friday.

The tremor was felt around 4:12pm at a depth of 56.8km, according to USGS.

The epicentre of the earthquake was 18km NNE of Falam in Myanmar and 352km east-southeast of BMD Seismic Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka.

However, no damage or casualty was reported immediately.
