A report of Bangladesh Passengers Welfare Association (BPWA) also known as Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity said at least 6,686 people were killed and 8,600 were injured in 4,891 road accidents across the country in last year.
Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury, secretary general of the organization of BPWA, revealed the report during a program at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday.
As many as 318 people were killed and 79 were injured in 323 train accidents while 313 were killed, 371 others went missing and 342 others injured in 183 accidents on waterways, the report said.
