Six passengers including two women of an autorickshaw were killed after being hit by a freight truck at Shayestaganj in Habiganj.
The accident took place on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Nasratpur area of the upazila around 7:30am on Monday.
Mohammad Mynul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shayestaganj police station confirmed the matter.
He said an autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction collided with a Sylhet-bound truck on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Nasratpur area of the upazila while five people died on the spot and another died after being taken to hospital.
However, the police officer could not immediately reveal the name of the victims.
