A fire that broke out in a six-storey building near Hatirpool kitchen market on Thursday has been brought under control.
The fire started at a carpet warehouse on the second floor of the building around 6:13pm, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
On information, seven firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at around 8:35pm.
