Passengers from the United Kingdom without negative Covid-19 test certificates will have to remain in a mandatory institutional quarantine for seven days in order to avoid transmission of the latest coronavirus strain in the country, said Minister of Health and Family Welfare Zahid Maleque.
After the end of the seven-day institutional quarantine, those passengers will be released to go home following Covid-19 testing. They will have to stay in home-quarantine after being released.
The minister made the announcement on Wednesday while inaugurating a mobile laboratory for coronavirus testing for returnees from abroad at the Ashkona Hajj Camp near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Zahid Maleque said the decision has been made the current coronavirus situation in the country under control.
