Seven people, including a newlywed bride died as a boat carrying bridal party members capsized in the Meghna river due to rough weather in Noakhali's Hatia on Tuesday afternoon.
There were sixty passengers in the boat, several of whom are still missing while filing this report.
On information, members of the Coast Guard and Navy reached the spot and began rescue operation.
Md. Abul Khayer, Officer-In-Charge of Hatia police station confirmed the news to The Business Post.
However, he said that the authorities are unsure of the number of passengers who are missing.
He reaffirmed that the rescue mission will continue until every person on that boat can be traced.
