7 JCD activists injured in attack by 'BCL men' at DU

At least seven activists of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal(JCD) were injured in an attack allegedly by the Chhatra League (BCL) men on the Dhaka University campus on Tuesday.

Some activists of BCL attacked JCD activists when they tried to enter the campus through the "Gonotontro O Mukti Toron" gate at Nilkhet point chanting slogans to submit a memorandum to the VC on various problems of the university, said witnesses. 

A JCD team was supposed to meet the Vice Chancellor at VC’s office around 4:15pm. 

Following the declaration of JCD, BCL also declared a programme to meet the VC at his office around 3:00pm to talk about the food quality of hall canteens.

However, from the morning, BCL activists started taking positions at different points on the campus to prevent JCD leaders and activists from entering the campus.
