Preventive team of Dhaka Customs House seized 70 gold bars, weighing more than 8kg, from an abandoned flight of US-Bangla Airlines at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday afternoon.
Dhaka Customs House Deputy Commissioner Sanwarul Kabir confirmed the matter to BSS.
Acting on a tip-off, the members of the preventive team of Dhaka Customs House carried out an operation on the plane and found the bars from the rubbish bin inside the aircraft, he said.
It’s estimated that the market value of the gold is around Tk 2.54 crore.
A case has been filed against three passengers with the Dhaka airport police station.
