Eight people were killed and at least 20 others injured in a head-on collision of two buses on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Dakshin Surma upazila of Sylhet early Friday.
The deceased couldn’t be identified immediately.
The fatalities occurred when a bus of London Express collided face-to-face with a Dhaka-bound bus of Ena Paribahan in Rashidpur area of Dakshin Surma, said locals.
On information, police and Fire Service members rushed to the spot and began rescue efforts.
Several of the injured are in critical condition, said locals.
