At least nine passengers have gone missing after a trawler capsized on the Dhaleshwari River in Narayanganj's Sadar upazila.
The accident took place at 9:00am on Wednesday, confirmed Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy assistant director of the Narayanganj Fire Service.
The capsized trawler had 40-50 passengers on board. A launch coming from the opposite direction could not spot it due to heavy fog and collided head-on, he said.
Members of Coast Guard and Fire Service are conducting a search operation, he added.
