Eight died from Covid-19 in the country over the last 24 hours as of Saturday, taking the death toll to 214. Besides, 636 more people tested positive, which makes 13,770 confirmed cases in total.
Additional Director General (Admin) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr Nasima Sultana revealed the information at a regular online briefing on Saturday.
She said all eight of the deceased were males.
With 313 new patients, a total of 2,414 patients have recovered from coronavirus to date.
A total of 5,465 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
Coronavirus, first reported in China in December last year, has infected 4,012,837 people and killed 276,216 worldwide as of Saturday morning, according to Worldometer.
The virus is affecting 212 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
