80.39% pass SSC, equivalent exams

A total of 80.39 per cent of students have passed this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations, which is 7.05 percentage points lower than last year. In 2022, as high as 87.44 per cent students passed the exams.

A total of 1,83,578 students across the country have scored GPA-5 this year, while the number was 2,69,602 last year.

The pass rate of the 2023 SSC examination under technical board is 86.35 per cent and madrasa board 74.70 per cent.

In total, 77.55 per cent candidates passed the SSC exams in Dhaka Board, 90.18 per cent in Barishal, 87.89 per cent in Rajshahi, 78.42 per cent in Cumilla, 85.49 per cent in Mymensingh, 78.29 per cent in Chattogram, 86.17 per cent in Jashore, 76.84 per cent in Dinajpur, and 76.06 per cent in Sylhet Board.

The results were handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday morning.

Education Minister Dipu Moni handed over the combined result statistics of the SSC and equivalent examinations to the prime minister at the latter’s official residence Ganabhaban in Dhaka.

Later, the chairmen of 11 education boards – nine general, one madrasa and one technical – handed over the result statistics of their respective boards to Sheikh Hasina.

Students can see their results on www.educationboardresults.gov.bd by entering their roll and registration number.

Besides, they can also get the results by sending an SMS to 16222. In that case, they will have to type SSC<>first three letters of the name of the education board<>roll number<>exam year in the message option of the mobile phone and send that to 16222.

For example, a student will have to write SSC<>DHA<>ROLL<>YEAR. The results will be sent in answer to the message.

Some 20,41,450 students under the 11 education boards appeared for the SSC and equivalent examinations in 2023. The theoretical exams were held on April 30-May 23.
