The list of scholarship recipients is available on the directorate of primary education website www.dpe.gov.bd and the ministry's website www.mopme.gov.bd.

A total of 4,83,759 examinees appeared in scholarship examinations.

Primary terminal examinations were not held in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Earlier, after 13 years, the primary scholarship examinations were held on December 30, 2022 across the country.

As per a ministry decision, 20 per cent students of Class V from all schools were allowed to sit for the examinations.

Since 2009, the government introduced Primary Education Completion Examinations (PECE) for the students of Class V and based on that result students were given scholarships.

Before that the students had to sit for the primary scholarship examinations for getting the scholarships.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the PECE were not being held since 2020.

As per the new national curriculum introduced in 2023, the system of holding the PECE has been abolished.
