9 Dhaka-bound flights suspended over UAE floods

At least nine flights from Dubai and Sharjah to Dhaka have been suspended due to severe floods in the desert country of the United Arab Emirates.

Confirming the matter on Wednesday, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Executive Director Group Captain Muhammed Kamrul Islam told reporters, “Due to bad weather, nine flights from Dubai and Sharjah to Dhaka have been suspended till Wednesday.

“Meanwhile, five Air Arabia flights have been suspended till Thursday morning. Apart from this, two flights of Emirates Airlines and two flights of Fly Dubai were suspended.”

According to international media reports, the city of Dubai, known for its dry and hot climate, has been disrupted by heavy rain on Tuesday. Due to the downpour, the entire UAE has been affected.

The Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates has been submerged by heavy rains.

Indian news portal Hindustan Times reported that Dubai Airport has announced the cancellation of flights from India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. Many passengers are in trouble.

US Bangla Airlines General Manager (Public Relations Department) Kamrul Islam said none of their flights has been cancelled, but two flights have been rescheduled.
