A total of 99,50,763 cattle have been sacrificed across the country in the holy Eid-ul-Azha, one of the biggest religious festivals of the Muslims, this year.
As many as 8.57 lakh more cattle have been sacrificed compared to the previous year, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock said in a press statement on Monday.
Last year, 90.93 cattle were slaughtered on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, it said.

Highest 24.91 lakh cattle have been sacrificed in Dhaka division marking the festival while 21.28 lakh cattle have been slaughtered in Chattogram division.
