Abdul Matin Khasru’s JS seat declared vacant

The parliamentary seat of Cumilla-5 constituency held by Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru has been declared vacant following his death.

Awami League presidium member, Supreme Court Bar Association president (Bar Association), former law minister and Cumilla-5 MP Abdul Matin Khasru died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital on April 14. 

A circular, signed by Zafar Ahmed Khan, Senior Secretary of the Jatiya Sangsad, was issued on Thursday in this regard.

Khasru was diagnosed with Covid-19 on March 16 and was admitted at CMH on the same day.
