Team Group Managing Director and BGMEA Director Abdullah Hil Rakib has been presented with Dhaka University Marketing Alumni Association (MAA) Award for his outstanding contribution to the country’s national economy.
A total of 9 were awarded from the Marketing Department of Dhaka University in this regard, said a press release on Tuesday.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni handed over the awards among 9 graduates from 47 batches, at an award-giving ceremony held to mark the MAA’s Silver Jubilee at the university premises.
After completing his graduation and Masters in Marketing and Business Administration from Dhaka University, Rakib started Team Sourcing Co Ltd along with three manufacturing units.
Over the last decade, Team Group has become a leading RMG conglomerate of the country comprised of 6 apparel and backward linkage factories namely Brothers Fashion Limited, 4A Yarn Dying Limited, Gramtech Limited, South End Sweaters, Mars Stitch Limited and CBM Limited.
Rakib served Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) as director for two terms in 2013-15 and 2015-2017, and he is also an elected Director of the current BGMEA Board.
