A Dhaka court on Thursday granted bail to five people including Prothom Alo Associate Editor Anisul Hoque in a case filed over the death of Dhaka Residential Model College student Naimul Abrar.
The other four are - lyricist Kabir Bakul, the head of events and activation of Kishor Alo, Mahitul Alam, senior assistant editor of Kishor Alo and Shah Paran Tushar and Shuvashish Pramanik, assistants of events and activation of Kishor Alo.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim Uddin passed the order on Thursday.
The court also cancelled orders that asked to seize the belongings of the accused.
Earlier on Wednesday, a Dhaka court directed the authorities concerned to confiscate properties of five people including Anisul Hoque in the case.
Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman, another accused in the case, was earlier granted bail.
Naimul Abrar was electrocuted during an anniversary celebration programme of the Prothom Alos youth magazine the 'Kishore Alo' on the residential college campus on November 1, 2019.
On November 6, his father filed a case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Aminul Haque. He alleged that his son died due to negligence of the Kishor Alo authorities at the event.
