Md Abu Jafar Raju has been re-appointed as prime minister's protocol officer-2 on Sunday.

The president issued a notification in this regard, signed by the Joint Secretary Ashraful Alam.

Abu Zafar Raju has been serving in this position since 2019.

Raju's father Abdul Jabbar was a valiant freedom fighter who was loved by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Jabbar, son of Raju was arrested and jailed on February 21, 1962, for displaying placards and marching.

After the brutal killing of the father of the nation along with some of his family members on August 15, 1975, Abdul Jabbar organized a protest rally, and funeral in Kulaura city on August 17.

For this, he had to be imprisoned several times and subjected to inhuman torture.

Raju played an important role in the development of Kulaura parliamentary constituency during his tenure as Prime Minister's Protocol Officer-2 since 2019.

Raju and his wife Naima have two children.
