The Anti-Corruption Commission on Monday approved a case against six people including Mahbubul Haque Chisty alias Babul Chisti, former chairman of audit committee for Farmers Bank, on allegations of embezzling and laundering Tk 63 crore from the bank.
The case was approved at a meeting of the commission, said Pranab Kumar Bhattachariya, director of public relation of ACC.
"Dhaka combined district office-1 of ACC will file the case soon" he added.
The other accused are Rashedul Haque Chisti, managing director of Bakshiganj Jute Spinners Limited, former executive vice president of Farmers Bank Md Jahangir Alam Najumder, Chowdhury Al Faruk, chairman of Al- Faruk Ranges Limited in Bogura, Redwanul Kabir Chowdhury, managing director and Nimmi Kabir Chowdhury, director of same organisation
