The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will seek information about WASA Managing Director Taqsem A Khan's wealth in the US.

ACC Chairman Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah on Monday told the media that they will seek information through the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) about his wealth in the US.

It was reported that Taqsem, who has been WASA's MD for 13 years, has allegedly amassed huge illegal wealth and bought 14 residences in the US, according to two separate complaints filed with the ACC.

ACC sources said the anti-graft body is conducting three separate enquiries against Taqsem on charges of amassing illegal wealth.

However, ACC Chairman said the new allegations will be added to the ongoing enquiries and there is no need to launch a fresh enquiry.

Meanwhile, the High Court on Monday sought to know the progress of the investigation into two complaints filed with the ACC regarding Dhaka WASA MD’s purchase of 14 houses in the United States.

The court asked the ACC to inform the court about this within 15 days.

The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Hayat gave the directive following a media report published in a Bangla daily on Monday.
