Adequate awareness stressed to prevent adolescent crime

Participants at a discussion on Saturday said that awareness should be created among the people to prevent adolescent, a vital section of the society, from crime.

They said that the people from irrespective of ages have the great responsibility for making congenial atmosphere so that adolescent could build up as human resource.

They said the families, social leaders, teachers, public representatives, Non-Government Organisations and government various agencies should keep vigil to lead them on the right way.

A non-government organisation (NGO) named ‘Social Development and Training Center’ arranged the meeting at its hall room in the town, reports BSS.

President, Bangladesh Environment Movement, Jamalpur District Unit, Shahid Ullah presided over the meeting.

Executive Director of the NGO Mohammad Enamul Haque presented the key-note paper on prevention of adolescent crime.

Officer-in-Charge, Jamalpur Sadar Police Station, Mahabbat Kabir, human rights workers Jahangir Selim and MH Majnu Mollah, Teachers Md Wahab and Amir Uddin, former Union Parishad Member, Mahbubur Rahman, Executive Director, Taranga Mohila Kallyan Sangstha, Shamima Khan, Executive Director, Zigatola Mohila Unnayan Sangstha, Saida Begum Shyama spoke among others at the meeting.
