Shaykh Afeefuddin Al-Jailani is set to attend the 9th and 10th days of International Karbala Mahfil in Chattogram as the chief guest. He is the 19th descendant of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani and the 33rd descendant of Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allahu Alaihi Wasallam).
He is arriving in Bangladesh on Tuesday.
Local and foreign guests will speak in this Mahfil organised at the port city’s Jamiatul Falah Mosque. Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman – chief patron and chairman of Karbala Mahfil Board of Directors, and also the chairman of PHP Family – will preside over the Mahfil.
Shaykh Afeefuddin Al-Jailani is the 19th direct descendant of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani and the 33rd direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad (Sal Allahu Alaihi Wasallam). Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al- Jailani is one of the most renowned Islamic scholars and the founder leader of the Qadriya spiritual path.
He is the official and the Grand Custodian (Sajjada Nasheen) and Mutawalli of The Waqaf, Masjid and Mazar of Sultanul Awlia’s Al Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani QS in Baghdad.
Shaykh Afeefuddin specialises in jurisprudence, shariah laws and spirituality. One of his greatest teachers was the former Mufti of Iraq Shaykh Abdul Karim Al Mudarris (also known as Abdul Karim Bayarah).
He has been certified as an Islamic scholar by Shaykh Abdul Karim Al Mudarris - with the credentials of Ijaza Ilmiya. He has studied with many other Islamic scholars as well.
Shaykh Afeefuddin was born and raised in Baghdad in 1972. He completed his college while specialising in the shariah sciences. He was the Imam and Khatib in several mosques in Baghdad including the Mosque of Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al-Jailani.
He was also a frequent guest lecturer in Iraq and other countries.
Currently living and teaching in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, many students from around the world travel to learn from him. Shaykh Afeefuddin is the founder and chairman of Al-Wariseen Trust. He also leads all activities and events of Darul Jailani International.
