Air force chief pays farewell call on president

Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan on Tuesday paid a farewell call on President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban.

The air force chief expressed his gratitude to the president for his cooperation while performing his duties, President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told newsmen in a media briefing after the meeting.

The president was also apprised by the air chief of the overall activities of the air force, including its overall development work, reports BSS.

The president, also the supreme commander of the Armed Forces, thanked the outgoing air force chief for successfully discharging his assignment.

The head of the state, as well, appreciated his role in the development of the air force.

Shahabuddin expressed his hope that the ongoing development of the air force would continue and simultaneously the government would extend full cooperation in this regard.

During the meeting, president’s wife Dr Rebecca Sultana was present.

President’s Office Secretary Md Wahidul Islam Khan and Military Secretary Major General M Adil Choudhury were also present.
