A team of Awami League on Wednesday visited Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute to enquire about the people, who were injured in an explosion in the city's Siddik Bazar on Tuesday.

They stayed sometimes there and enquired about the treatment of the patients and talked with their relatives.

Talking to journalists, Awami League (AL) Organising Secretary Mirza Azam said, “We came to enquire about the blast victims following the Prime Minister’s directives.”

AL Organizing Secretaries Afzal Hossain and Sujit Ray Nandi, AL Health Affairs Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, AL Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua and AL Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan accompanied him during the visit.

“The AL has instructed for providing all necessary supports to the blast wounded people. The Awami League will also stand beside them,” he said.

Replying to a question whether the government has suspicions about the blast incident, the AL organising secretary said, “We certainly have doubts as one after another blast is taking place."

"If one accident took place, we would consider it as an accident. But similar incidents are taking place one after another, so it is highly doubtful," he said.

During the visit, chief coordinator of Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute professor Dr Samonta Lal Sen was present.
