Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday arrested one more policeman in a case filed over the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
The arrestee, Rubel Sharma, is a constable at Teknaf police station in Cox’s Bazar.
He was produced before the Cox’s Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Court at noon, RAB-15 Cox’s Bazar Battalion Deputy Commander Maj Mehedi Hasan confirmed the media.
Major (retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post in Cox’s Bazar on July 31.
Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, elder sister of Sinha, filed a case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate’s Court on August 5 over the incident.
A total of seven policemen surrendered to the court on August 6 in connection with the case. 12 of the accused gave confessional statements under Section 164 before the court till date.
