The third shipment of 200 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen from India has reached Bangladesh to tackle the oxygen distress in the country amid a worsening pandemic situation.
The ‘Indo Bangla Oxygen Express’ train with 10 oxygen containers arrived at West Railway Station in Sirajganj near Bangabandhu Bridge at around 1:20am on Friday.
With this, the importer Linde Bangladesh has so far imported 600 tonnes of liquid oxygen from India in three phases.
The unloading process of the oxygen started at 7:00am on Friday.
The oxygen will be taken to Linde Bangladesh’s Rupganj factory in Narayanganj, said the company’s authorities.
Later after processing, it will be supplied to various hospitals in the country, they said.
Earlier, the Oxygen Express in two trips brought 200 tonnes of oxygen each on July 25 and July 28.
