A mild tremor was felt at 4:35am on Sunday in Sylhet following five mild quakes earlier on Saturday. However, the extent of the earthquake was not immediately known.
Five successive earthquakes hit Sylhet on Saturday morning with no reported casualty or damage to property.
The first quake on Saturday hit at 10:37am, followed by tremors at 10:51am, 11:30am, 11:34am and 2:00pm, officials said.
The five earthquakes within three and a half hours created panic among the people of Sylhet.
Many are suspecting that these are mild tremors ahead of a big one.
