The Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of Bangladesh Police arrested an alleged member of outlawed militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from Jenaidah on Wednesday.
The arrestee was identified as M Sajib Hossain, 26, son of late Shawkat Hossain, hailing from Kaliganj upazial in Jenaidah district.
Acting on a tip-off, the ATU team arrested the outlawed militant outfit ABT’s member from Mongolpaita Bazar of Kaliganj upazila under Jenaidah district around 3:20pm, said the police.
Two mobile sets were also seized from his possession.
During the interrogation, Sajib said they had been running a campaign to establish “Gazwatul Hind” through bloody war and had been conducting various operations in order to establish Khilafat in Bangladesh.
The process of filing a case against Sajib is underway.
