A Dhaka court has placed Md Imam Hossain Nasim, owner of the Nasim Real Estate and Halima Akhter Salma on 3-day remand in a case filed under the Arms Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Moinul Islam passed the order Friday after the investigation officer of the case produced the accused before court seeking a 7-day remand plea for each.

Earlier on the day, counsel of the accused filed a bail petition along with remand rejection prayer before the court. However, the court granted a 3-day remand for each of them.

On September 30, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), arrested the owner of Nasim Real Estate Imam Hossain Nasim, a fugitive accused in 55 cases, and his accomplice and third wife Halima Akhter Salma, from Rupnagar area.

The RAB official said Nasim worked as a contractor from 1978 to 1986. But since 2002, he has been using fraudulent tactics and introduced himself as the owner of the so-called Nasim Real Estate Company.
