An army operation in Khagrachhari’s Jarulchhari, based on a secret tip-off that 10-12 armed militants of UPDF (Prasit group) were in Jarulchhari area, seized arms and ammunition.
According to the army sources, the two-hour-long operation started around 3:00pm on Sunday.
During the operation, a prolonged exchange of fire between the army and the UPDF members occurred.
At one point, the armed wing of the UPDF fled, and two AK-47 rifles, 13 rounds of ammunition, two magazines, two mobile sets and other equipment were seized from the spot.
