Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed has left Dhaka for Qatar on a four days official tour.
He will meet with Qatar Army Amiri Guard Commander Lieutenant-General Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani, read an Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR) press release issued on Wednesday.
During the meeting, they will discuss various aspects of bilateral development and mutual cooperation between the two countries' armed forces. Later, he will visit various important installations of the army.
Over the past year, the existing relationship between the Bangladeshi and Qatar armed forces has improved tremendously due to the initiative of the Chief of Army Staff. A memorandum of understanding on military cooperation between Bangladesh and Qatar Armed Forces was signed in October 2022.
At the end of the tour, the Army chief will return to Dhaka on November 27.
