Awami League (AL) nominated candidate for Nilphamari-2 Asaduzzaman Noor won the race of 12th parliamentary election held on Sunday.
Noor bagged 1,19,339 votes while his nearest rival independent candidate Joynal Abedin secured 15,684 votes.
Asaduzzaman Noor is a Bangladeshi actor, politician and activist.
He has been a Jatiya Sangsad member from Nilphamari-2 constituency since 2001 and served as the Cultural Affairs Minister from 2014–2019.
