Two people including an official of ATN News were killed as a truck hit them at Bamundi Nishipur in Gangni upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Mokbul Hossain, assistant manager of the marketing department of ATN News channel and his friend Aktheruzzaman, 28, of the upazila.
Witnesses said a speedy truck hit Mokbul’s motorbike when it got overturned on the road after he lost control over it around 11 am while going to Bamundi along with two others.
Mokbul and Aktheruzzamn were declared dead at a local hospital while another sustained injuries.
Gangni police station Officer-in-Charge Obaider Rahman confirmed the matter, adding that the truck driver managed to flee but the vehicle was seized.
