Auto rickshaw-truck collision leaves three dead in Cox’s Bazar

Three people were killed and three others injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto rickshaw and a truck in Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar, police said.

The accident took place at around 8am at Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Highway beside Ukhia Khunia Palong area of the upazila.

Ukhia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Mohammad Ali said the deceased couldn’t be identified yet.

According to police and locals, the auto-rickshaw was on the way to Cox's Bazar from Ukhia when it collided head-on with a Teknaf-bound truck at Khunia Palong area.

The driver of the auto rickshaw and two passengers died on the spot.

The bodies were sent to the morgue of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.

The injured were later transferred to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital, said the OC.
