A team of the Rapid Action Battalion on Friday arrested Enamul Hasan Farooqui, press secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam's former Ameer Junayed Babunagari.
He was arrested from Fatehabad area of Chattogram's Hathazari.
Confirming the matter, RAB-7 captain Lieutenant Colonel Mashiur Rahman said that Farooqui had been arrested in connection with the violence in Hathazari that broke out protesting the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bangladesh.
Farooqui is accused in several cases, including the murder of former Hefazat Ameer Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, he added.
