A fire broke out at a gold market in Dhaka’s Baitul Mukarram on Monday afternoon.
The fire originated at the electric line on the first floor of the market and firefighters were alerted to the incident at 2:53pm, according to the media cell of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The fire was doused before three firefighting units reached the spot, it added.
On Saturday, a massive fire broke out at New Super Market, next to the Dhaka New Market, burning down shops and establishments during this busy Eid shopping season.
On April 4, a devastating fire ripped through Bangabazar Complex and other nearby markets, gutting several thousand shops with mainly ready-made clothes and footwear.
