Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) president Sayem Sobhan Anvir has welcomed the decision to form a new interim government under the leadership of Nobel Peace Prize-winning economist Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus.
In a statement, Bajus, an organisation of 40,000 jewellery businesses, said it will give maximum support to the interim government.
He hoped that deployment of the Bangladesh Army would restore law and order and provide security to all industries and business establishments including jewellery businesses across the country.
The Bajus offered condolences to the families of the deceased students and citizens killed in the recent movement and requested the authorities to take effective measures to treat the seriously injured and provide short and long-term compensation for the affected families.
