Three workers were killed after a balcony of an under-construction building in the Dhanmondi-12 area in the city collapsed on them on Monday.
Two of the deceased were identified as Shafiqul, 22, and Insaan, 22; both hailing from Chapainawabganj. The identity of the third deceased worker could not be known immediately.
Ikram Ali Mia, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhanmondi police station, confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
The incident took place around 11.30am Monday, he said, adding that one of the workers died on the spot as the balcony collapsed on three of them while working at the under-construction building. The remaining two died on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
