Project Director Shafiqul Islam has banned engineers from publishing pictures, videos and information on the construction of Padma Bridge on social media.
A letter in this regard was sent to the engineers of the bridge project on Saturday. As a result, the engineers of the project will not be able to share this information regarding the construction of the bridge through Facebook, WhatsApp, Viber and other social media platforms.
Shafiqul Islam, project director of Padma Bridge, said over the phone that about 1,000 people, including 250 engineers and contractors, work on the project. Everyone shouldn’t share whatever they like. Only the assigned few will share. It is not acceptable for one thousand engineers to share information from their ID.
An engineer working on the project said to The Business Post that several rumours started floating on social media since the damage of a construction yard. After that, the authorities started imposing several restrictions to stop the spread of misinformation.
