The fire that broke out at a six-storey building in the capital’s Banani area on Saturday morning has been brought under control after four hours of effort.
Raihan Kabir, assistant director of fire service (media cell) confirmed the matter.
He said that no casualties have been reported, However, and fire service personnel are searching if anyone was trapped inside the building.
Ziaur Rahman, an officer fire service's control room, said 15 units of fire service worked to douse the fire.
They found many inflammable substances in a storehouse housed in the building.
The fire broke out at the building at around 9:10am. Ananda TV's office is also housed in the same building.
However, the exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, officials said.
