Miscreants have vandalised an under-construction sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Kushtia town last night.
Kushtia Superintendent of Police SM Tanvir Arafat confirmed the news to the media.
He said, “A CCTV footage of the incident shows two people were vandalising the sculpture. Efforts are on to identify them”.
According to local sources, some parts of the sculpture were damaged.
A case will be filed over the incident, said Kushtia Municipality Mayor Anwar Ali.
Demonstrations and human chains were formed in protest against the incident at Bangabandhu Supermarket premises in Kushtia on Saturday morning.
