The sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the city’s Bijoy Sarani area has been demolished. The excited crowd started breaking the sculpture of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with hammers around 3:30pm on Monday.
Before that, hundreds of thousands of people started gathering on the streets after the information about Sheikh Hasina's resignation from the post of prime minister, and leaving the country was leaked. A large part of which was seen in Bijoy Sarani of the capital.
On November 10, 2023, the statue of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was inaugurated by his daughter Sheikh Hasina at Bijoy Sarani.
