Professor Dr Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari has resigned from his position of director general at the Bangla Academy.
Bangla Academy’s Public Relations Division Deputy Director Nargis Sanjida Sultana made the disclosure in a press release issued Saturday.
Askari was appointed as the director general of Bangla Academy on July 18, in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary Bhaskar Debnath Bappi of the Public Administration Ministry, following an order by the president.
Assuming office the following week on July 24, Askari replaced the academy’s previous director general poet Muhammad Nurul Huda.
