Bangladesh's passport has ranked 103rd, according to the Henley Passport Index 2022 Q1 released recently.
The country ranked 103rd out of 116 spots on the index climbing up five spots in the latest edition. Last year, the country ranked 108th.
It shares the position with war-torn Libya and Kosovo.
Bangladeshi passport holders can travel to 40 foreign destinations without prior visas, as in last year. In 2020, the number was 41.
Among the South Asian countries, the Indian passport ranked 83rd that allows its citizens visa-free travel (or with visa-on-arrival) to 60 countries.
Despite being under a military regime, Myanmar is ahead of Bangladesh. It ranked 97 with the advantage of visa-free/ on-arrival access to 47 destinations.
Bhutan's passport ranked 90th in the ranking. Sri Lanka is also ahead of Bangladesh holding the 102nd position in the index.
Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan positions are worse than Bangladesh in the index like previous years -- holding 105th, 108th and 111th positions respectively.
Japan and Singapore shared the top spot in the index followed by Germany and South Korea in the second place jointly.
