Bangladesh has strongly condemned the Houthi bomb-laden drone attack which targeted King Abdullah Airport in Jazan, Saudi Arabia on October 8 injuring civilians including three Bangladeshis working at the airport.
Such attacks are a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, moral values and completely unacceptable, said a press release.
Bangladesh expresses its grave concerns over the growing number of Houthi militia attacks on Saudi Arabia which undermines the ongoing peace initiatives, the release said.
Urging a peaceful resolution of Yemen conflict, the release added that Bangladesh expresses its solidarity with the government of Saudi Arabia and its brotherly people in condemning such irresponsible activities.
Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh has been asked to look after Bangladeshi citizens injured in latest Houthi attack and to provide necessary supports.
On late October 8 and early October 9, ten people, including three Bangladeshis were injured in two explosives-laden drone attacks at King Abdullah airport in the southern Saudi city of Jizan.
Six Saudis, three Bangladeshi nationals and one Sudanese were injured in the first attack. The injured were travellers and airport staff.
Some of the airport's facade windows were shattered in the attack.
