Bangladesh has strongly condemned the Houthi militias' terrorist attacks on March 19-20 targeting civilian facilities in different cities, including Jazan and Khamis Mushayt of Saudi Arabia.

“Bangladesh denounces that such deliberate and insensible acts are a flagrant violation of international law and norms of civilized behaviour”, a foreign ministry statement said on Wednesday.

It said Bangladesh feels that the recent regular drone and ballistic missile attacks targeting innocent civilians and civilian establishments in Saudi Arabia constitute an unlawful and cowardly act of terrorism.

These attacks are an escalation of hostility and aggression on the part of the Houthi militias adding to further tension in the region, read the statement.

Bangladesh notes with dismay that the Houthis attacks come ahead of GCC sponsored peace talks in Riyadh on 29 March 2022, it added.

The foreign ministry said Bangladesh also remains steadfastly committed to all efforts for the maintenance of peace and stability in the region.
