The number of internet users in Bangladesh rose by 43.5 lakh in March compared to February this year. This increase comes despite a low growth in the number of internet users across the country at the beginning of 2024.
Data published on the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) web portal show that the number of mobile internet subscribers rose to 12,12,60,000 in March 2024, a significant increase from 11,74,70,000 recorded in February of the same year.
So, the country posted a 37.90 lakh increase in the number of mobile subscribers in just a month.
The number of ISP and PSTN internet customers has also increased. In February, the number of ISP subscribers was 1,28,80,000. In March, this number increased by 5.6 lakh, putting the total count at 1,34,40,000.
These increases in the number of mobile, ISP, and PSTN subscribers helped boost the total number of internet subscribers in Bangladesh to 13.47 crore in March this year. In February, the total number of customers stood at 13,03,50,000.
The BTRC publishes the number of Internet subscribers in the country every month on its web portal. The publication of the latest data was a however bit late this time.
