Bangladesh registered 3 Covid-19 related deaths and 284 new infections in the past 24 hours until Tuesday morning.

According to the latest data, the total number of fatalities reached to 27,958 while the positivity rate was recorded 1.45 per cent on Monday, that displayed an upward trend compared to Monday.

After adding the fresh cases, the total caseload jumped to 15,74,636 said a regular bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health authorities reported the latest figures after testing 19,568 samples at 836 laboratories across the country.

Bangladesh has so far tested 1,07,61,979 samples.

Meanwhile, 318 patients recovered from the deadly infection in the last 24-hours, raising the overall recovery to 15,38,555.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 last year and the first coronavirus-related death on March 18 the same year.

Meanwhile, the global Covid-19 caseload reached 258,387,564 and the death toll to 5,162,339 till Tuesday morning, according to US-based Johns Hopkins University (JHU) update.
