Fifty-six patients died of Covid-19 in Bangladesh in the 24 hours till 8:00 am on Sunday, brining its tally to 11,934, said the Director General of Health Services (DGHS) in a press release.
Besides, 1,386 people tested positive for the virus during the same period taking the caseloads to 773,513.
The tally of recoveries rose to 710,162 with 3,329 patients got cured from the disease in the 24 hours.
The rate of recoveries now stands at 91,81 per cent while the rate of positivity at 13.74 per cent and mortality rate 1.54 per cent, said the directorate.
The country is currently under a lockdown imposed by the government on April 14. The nationwide lockdown was later extended in phases to curb risks of coronavirus transmission.
